Tartaruga Maritima

Situated in the south of the pristine Mozambique coastline, our luxury tented camp offers comfort, privacy and tranquility. The tents are spacious and airy, fully fitted with en-suite bathrooms and plenty of hot water, electric fans and comfortable beds with mosquito nets.

Shaded wooden walkways link each tent with the main deck which overlooks the Indian Ocean as well as a beach deck exclusively for the use of our Tartaruga guests.

There is also a 3 metre deep swimming pool for dive practicals and a ‘Jacuzzi’ to cool off in the heat of the day, as well as a boma for evening fires.
Modern gas cooking facilities are provided for your convenience and we have ample fridge and freezer space for your supplies. We will provide the crockery and cutlery; all you need to bring is your food and beverages. Here you can catch up on the day’s events while you prepare your meals at your leisure after which our obliging staff will be available to clear the decks and tidy up.

Bathrooms

Activities include:

Scuba Diving which is available on your doorstep from Malongane Dive Camp or Ponta Mamoli (approx 8 km north).
Deep Sea Fishing or surf fishing.
Snorkeling
Bird life is prolific with the Trumpeter Hornbill being a common resident.
Giant Leatherback or Loggerhead turtles nest here October - March.
4x4 inland adventuring or just stroll along the miles of unspoiled beaches.
Swimming & Surfing.
Dolphin Dives are available at Ponta Do Ouro which is approx 8 km south of the camp
