The Luxurious & Exclusive Marlin Lodge is Situated on the Romantic Benguerua Island in the Bazaruto Archipelago, just off the coast of Vilanculous, Mozambique. This chain of Islands-because of their exquisite beauty have been named "The Crown Jewels" of the Western Indian Ocean.
The Elegant accommodation at Marlin Lodge consists of 21 Stylish Sea facing chalets. Each chalet has an En-Suite Bathroom, private patio, and walkway to the powdery white beach. They are decorated with a hue of creams, browns and slight blues, the chalets reflect luxury and essential comfort. There are four categories of chalets to choose from: Classic chalets, Luxury Chalets, Luxury Suite and Executive Suites.
Marlin Lodge Personally will meet all clients as they get off the Aircrafts at the airport and assist with the customs, we then transfer them in our Air-conditioned Vehicles to the boat jetty (a 5 minute ride), here we board our 27ft Luxury nova cat boats for a scenic 20 minute transfer to the Lodge on the western side of Benguerua Island.
Marlin Lodge Includes 3 Full meals per day where guests are treated to a blend of Afro-Asian and Portuguese cuisine, served either in our spacious open-deck dining room, on the beach under the African stars or as a private meal on your own patio or private beach. A visit to Marlin Lodge is a culinary delight.
Marlin Lodge offers numerous lounging areas and a cocktail bar where one can retreat from the sun, sip on a famous cocktail or lazily catch up on some reading. Our Freshwater Pool is set in a glade of coconut and Ilala Palms.
Activities at Marlin Lodge include World class diving and snorkelling, We have a Fully equipped Dive centre and a PADI dive instructor. World class Angling on our sophisticated deep sea fishing boats, day trips to neighbouring islands, Yacht cruises and private picnics on the Southern and Northern points of Benguerua Island, there are also a number of complementary non-motorized water sports available at the lodge.
The Bazaruto Archipelago was declared a National Marine park in 1971 and isFamous for some of the Worlds most beautiful diving & snorkelling spots as well as outstanding Marine & Bird life.
The whole Bazaruto Archipelago is an ecological gem that has been granted National Park status. It falls into the Eastern African Marine Ecoregion, which stretches over a 4 600km coastline, from South Africa to Somalia.

Dugong: This extremely rare mammal has been described as a “sea cow”and is a big, gentle grass eater that is most closely related to the elephant. Dugong are found in shallow waters along the world’s tropical coasts, yet have largely been hunted to the brink of extinction. Bazaruto has the largest remaining population in East Africa, raising the profile of the area to a global marine conservation priority. Turtles: The island group is home to all five marine turtle species of the western Indian Ocean. They are highly endangered and in urgent need of conservation. The turtles annually come to the beaches to breed and their nests are extremely vulnerable to predators. Other threats include fishing nets, trawlers and hunting
Birds
There are more than 180 species of birds, including Palaearctic migrants, vast flocks of pelicans and flamingo's. There are 26 species of waders.
The Weather in the Bazaruto Archipelago is warm all year round, the warmest months are December/January/February average of 29 degrees celcius, the colder months are June/July/August average of 25 degrees celcius. The rainy month is February and Marlin Lodge is Closed during this month.
