Dugong Beach Lodge

Dugong Beach Lodge is temporarily closed.

Dugong Beach Lodge sits on the East African coast of Mozambique, within the Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary. This sanctuary is Mozambique’s first privately managed and specially protected national park. It covers 30,000 hectares of pristine marine and wildlife territory, offering a unique beach and wilderness experience.

The lodge is surrounded by a diverse ecosystem of wilderness and wetlands. Its white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters are home to dolphins and the endangered Atlantic Dugong, resembling a sea lion. On land, you can spot Livingstone’s Eland, Blue Wildebeest, Giraffes, and Zebras. Shallow and deep-water reefs teem with marine life, such as leatherback turtles, manta rays, and sailfish. Guests can enjoy deep-sea fishing for marlin and barracuda. Flamingos and pelicans are frequently seen in the area. Dugong Beach Lodge provides an unforgettable escape into nature’s unspoiled beauty.

Accommodation:
Dugong Beach Lodge has 12 luxurious chalets with air conditioning and beach access. Two chalets feature two bedrooms and private plunge pools. All rooms have outdoor showers, mosquito nets, minibars, and private decks. The lodge also offers a large pool with an island-style bar and stunning ocean views.

Activities:
Island excursions, water sports (skiing, windsurfing, kayaking, Hobie Cat), diving (outsourced), snorkelling, sundowner and dhow cruises, fishing, crab fishing, and bird watching.
