Nuarro Lodge

Where We Come From – The Story of Nuarro Lodge

In 2009, Nuarro Lodge opened its doors on the remote northern coast of Mozambique, welcoming travelers from around the globe. Built with dedication, perseverance, and the collective strength of many hands, Nuarro was more than just a dream—it was a shared vision brought to life.

With an investment of 4 million Euros, the support of passionate shareholders, experienced managers, and the wisdom of local communities, Nuarro rose from untouched land lined with ancient baobab trees and unspoiled beaches.

We built Nuarro:

  • For the local people, to create opportunity and growth

  • For the planet, to ensure sustainability at every step

  • For ourselves, because we love what we do and where we do it

Our People – The Heart of the Lodge

From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the warmth that defines Nuarro. Even before you see the sparkling shoreline or the ocean bay, you’ll be welcomed with genuine smiles.

Many of our 80 team members have been here since day one. They helped build the lodge—quite literally—from the ground up. Others joined over the years, bringing new ideas and vibrant energy that helped shape Nuarro into the special place it is today.

Our team is not just staff—they are family. They are deeply invested in the sustainable future of Nuarro Lodge and proudly share that connection with every guest.

Looking Ahead – A Vision for the

 Future

At Nuarro, we believe in continuous evolution. In the fast-changing world of eco-tourism, innovation and intention go hand in hand. We constantly refine our goals, seek sustainable solutions, and strive to deliver unforgettable guest experiences rooted in environmental responsibility and cultural authenticity.

Dining at Nuarro Lodge – Flavors with a View

Food at Nuarro is an experience on its own. Managed by Tim and Tyeya, our culinary team prepares dishes that reflect local flavors with international flair.

Enjoy gourmet meals in our main restaurant, set against dramatic rocky outcrops and the endless blue of the Indian Ocean. For a more relaxed vibe, dine at our beach bar and watch the moon rise over the bay.

And for something truly magical, savor dinner under the stars beside a crackling fire, with your table nestled under a swaying casuarina tree. Every meal is a moment to remember—just like the views.
